  1. What are the ticket prices?

    FARES: Omaka Station to Brayshaw Park Station.

    Adults $6 Return,

    Child $3 Return,

    • FARES: Brayshaw Park Station to Beaver Station (Central Blenheim)

    Adults $10 Return

    Child $5 Return

    There are also a range of Family and Combination Trip tickets available.

    Currently there is no Eftpos facility.

    Discounts are available for larger numbers with charters.

Charters

  1. Are you available for charters ?

    Yes - great question. we are available for schools, rest homes, tour parties and weddings. In fact - you can give us a call and we can haul. We are very price competive, so please contact us on the below numbers.

  2. What is the cost of a charter for weddings and cruise Ships etc

    This really depends on what you want to use. If you need a full train or the railcar - we can do this. You will appreciate that every situation is different. Please contact John or Chris on the numbers above.

  3. What type of charters can you provide?

    Many charter trips are run for cruise ships, schools, conferences, centenaries, reunions and birthdays.

    SOME EXAMPLES.

    1. Cruise ship bus tour 1. Riverside Railway from Central Blenheim to a combination of Brayshaw Park and Omaka destinations. Bus to a winery and lunch, then return to Picton.

    2. Cruise ship bus tour 2. River Queen cruise, sometimes with lunch, then Riverside Railway from Central Blenheim to a combination of Brayshaw Park and Omaka destinations. Return to Picton by bus, sometimes via a winery.

    3. Conference based at Conference Centre or Clubs of Marlborough facility. 5 minute walk via historic River Port and Crinoline Bridge to Beaver Station. Riverside Railway from Central Blenheim to a combination of Brayshaw Park and Omaka destinations, and later return to start point by Riverside Railway.

    4. Weddings, Birthday Parties, and School Reunions based at venues in Brayshaw Park, book train trips to Central Blenheim or Omaka, or a combination.

    5. School trips use the train for day trips to study transport history, hike on the Wither Hills, or to carry out Maori Cultural Studies at the Omaka Marae.

    You most certainly can. We pride ourselves in having very professional locomotive crew and support staff. You come up with the concept and tell us what you want - we will try our best to do what you desire.

Membership

  1. I am keen to join the Society and want to know what the annual subs are and if is possible for me to be involved in the running operations of the railway e.g. guard or driver etc

    You are most welcome to become involved witht he society at Blenheim Riverside Railway Society. We open all potential members who have a desire to become involved in operating, maintaining and managing the railway on a rostered voluntary basis.

    We offer full and comprehensive training for all operational duties. without the volinteers, we could not make our raiway successful and safe as it is.

    There are two options. The first is to just come up to Brayshaw Park and make yourself known to members or on running days or contact John Orchard - ( President)  -(03) 578 1716 - Heritage Education Answerphone.

    The annual Sub is set at $10.00 per year.

  1. Are there any other Blenheim historical venues we can visit from the train trip?

    The Railway connects with many attractions listed below: 

    This railway connects many museums and activities together including:

    1. The Aviation Heritage Centre and Classic Cars Collection at Omaka.

    2. The Marlborough Provincial Museum with the Wine Exhibition, Wairau Bar Exhibition, and extensive

    Archives Collection at Brayshaw Heritage Park.

    3. Vintage Farm Machinery Collection, Vintage Car Collection, Vintage Fire Engine Collection, Beavertown

    Replica Village, and Vintage Radio Collection, all at Brayshaw Heritage Park.

    4. Marlborough Associated Modellers railway and boat facilities at Brayshaw Heritage Park.

    5. Marlborough Rock and Mineral Club, Marlborough Society of Genealogists, Marlborough Guild of

    Woodworkers, and the second oldest church in Marlborough (1875), all at Brayshaw Heritage Park.

    6. Marlborough’s River Queen paddle steamer is at the Central Blenheim end of the main railway line.

    7. The Omaka Marae is a 5 minute walk from Omaka Station.
